Question:

When does the saying, "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again" cease to apply?

after (3) tries? The first one, then try, then try again?

Homer Simpson once said:

"Kids, you tried your best, and you failed miserably. The lesson is: never try."

I think it applies after you've tried a few times to get a guy. That is, you flirt, you try to spark up a conversation whenever you see him, or you ask him out on a date and he says no. That'd pretty much be when you quit trying -- overtly, anyway. :)

Nice pecs? Huh? :)

My personal motto is, "If at first you don't succeed, try a different angle."

Or, "If at first you don't succeed, you probably, subconsciously, didn't want to succeed and you sabotaged your chances."

Or maybe, "If at first you don't succeed, you will probably get bored and try something completely different."

But that's just me...

I love all of your responses and will try to remember them when trying to succeed (or after I just failed).
