A Science Question:

If the sun bleaches my Williams-Sonoma mixing bowls, why doesn't it lighten skin? What is it about pigment in skin that's different than pigment in dyed pink melamine?

Maybe skin pigment's complete opposite is dyed pink melamine... So if you are tire of your same ol' skin... wrap your body in dyed pink melamine for the exact opposite experience!

Sometimes I feel like my skin is the exception to the rule -- that I actually get lighter by being in the sun. Why isn't pale the new tan?

You affiliate with the wrong crowds. Stop wasting your time on hipsters and their ilk. Join the goths and the punks; they see porcelain skin as an asset.

Think about it...there are girls out there who apply layers of makeup in the desperate quest to look the way you do NATURALLY!
